Last year, I started logging my workouts for the first time. It was great.

Then one day, I forgot to log.

And then one other day, I didn't workout.

Then that day turned into a couple of weeks.

Then I ran again. And forgot to log. For a long time.

I am so frustrated that my first FULL year of really changing my running habits, I have no idea how much I've really done.

So log your miles, no matter what! You never know what they'll mean to you in a year or even further down the line!

Sports Tracks software for the Garmin logs it for you. It uploads it from the Garmin, just plug it in. It maps, tracks your pace per mile, everything is there for you.

And once you figure out how to create reports, it get's even better.

Is it dorky that I actually make my own reports and graphs? Excel is your friend.

I ENJOY doing these things...it's fun. LOL I also like having a hard copy of my log to carry with me. I don't know why. I might change my mind but I enjoy the methodology!!!!

I wouldn't call it dorky it all. Its what you like to do. My life calls for me to save every second I can so if I liked to do my own graphs(I don't), I probably wouldn't to save the minutes for my boys. I think its kinda cool you put that much effort and thought into it.

No, to each their own. You have to do what works for you. I would get bored with making them in excel as I use excel all the time at work. Everyone here want's to use excel as a database and try to get more out of it than it is really intended for rather than just learning to use access  , but I digress. As I said I would get bored, and eventually it would not get done. The same maybe true for you using Sports Tracks. If you enjoy making the charts etc, you may get bored with letting Sports Tracks do everything, and eventually stop using it. Everyone likes what they likes. :D
