Hey I know you mentioned something about me getting out and running with you. Well, it turns out I am not going to TN till Sunday morning. I think I would like to take you up on the offer and see if I can keep up with the big dogs. I have put some serious thought toward running the Triple Crown. The furthest I have ran was 7.5 miles... I think that gives me enough time to train for 13.1. How much does that cost? I am doing the Polar Bear Grand Prix thing.. I just signed up for those short 3 races for motivation purposes only.

Yesterday I ran 5 miles at a 8:25 pace... think I'd be able to hang with ya'll?

Honestly, you will outrun us. 8:25 is a fast pace and I usually only run that in races. We're no big dogs, thats for sure  . My last race was well above that pace. If you're doing 7 miles right now you will be more than ready for the Triple Crown. The TP is $60 for all 3 races and includes a 5K, 10K, and a 10 miler. 2 Weeks after the 10 Miler is the KDR Mini Marathon and Marathon. The cost of the Mini is $35. We plan to do all 4.

As for this weekend, Tom can't make it Saturday so we are going to do Iroquois on Sunday. You are more than welcome to join us on Sunday. I wouldn't mind running Cherokee Park on Saturday morning, are you up for that?

hmm, i don't think its in the cards to do it this weekend, I gotta work early Sat. morning. But I am totally cool with getting together with some people and keeping my pace down and focus on staying motivated. I see you ran the Human Race last year, you thinking about doing it again?

I would do the Human Race again. It was a great experience. It was my 1st time in Chicago and I love that city. The race itself was incredible to me. Their were a lot of complaints but I thought they were ridiculous. We had a great time. I would like for my next run in Chi-Town to be the Chicago Marathon but I'm at least 2 years from even attempting a marathon.

Tom ran the Human Race, and Andrea also ran it. They both enjoyed it. The negative about big races at the 10K distance is you never break away from the pack. My only issue is that it was crowded the whole race. It was still great.

I'm not sure if you do any track speedwork but I find it to be a nice change of pace. I do speedwork with the Pacers and Racers Running Group at New Albany High School on Tuesday at 7pm if you are ever interested. Its a much different workout than your daily runs as you work your hamstrings and glutes a lot more. The track is the softer surface and easier on the knees. You have to be careful at 1st because you are working different muscles which can make you susceptible to injury. I learned that the hard way last week with a slight groin injury.

Hey! I was planning on doing Cherokee soon! My long run will be Saturday so I'll probably head to Bernheim BUT it would be cool to catch up with you guys on Saturday, even if we run separately since I'm the slowbie!

P.S. Have you guys done the Cherokee loop yet? Where's the best and safest place to park? I haven't been there in SO long, plus I haven't been there to run EVER so I don't know if there's a better parking spot for us runners, kinda like at Iroquois.

i am a 6 minute walk from Cherokee. I like the scenery and half the road is dedicated for runners & walkers. There are two big hills that are kinda fun. I run there mostly, now that it gets so dark so soon I have also been hitting Seneca Park after I get off work at 8pm. It is flat at Seneca and trail is lit up. Everyone tells me Iroquois is the tuff run. Anyway, I think it would be awesome to get a group together to run sometimes.

I would looooove to do Cherokee, but Saturday doesn't work for me  do to other obligations. I plan to do Iroquois on Sunday. Joe maybe doing it with me depending on how he feels unless he would rather do Cherokee. I don't care which, I'm just tired of the same Long Run course here in New Albany.
