I'm very stubborn when it comes to stretching, but I'm learning the benefits and importance of making sure you do proper stretching that will enhance your running. I've been told by a PT who works with area runners to do most of your stretching after your runn when muscles are warmed up. My Dr., who happens to be a runner, also says to make sure the majority of stretches are not right before you take off. That's my beginner tip of the day!!!

I have found the best thing for pre-run stretching is to run .25 - .5 mile first then stretch, especially during the cold winter months. This way your muscles get warmed up. You don't want to stretch cold muscles to much.
