Not a lot in life I would rather discuss than movies. Does that make me boring? If so, I love to be boring!!! :occasion5:

You would not believe the amount of time spent discussing movies here where I work... And I know I'm bad, because I cross so many genres with what I watch that I can pick up a discussion with most anyone who has seen a movie.

That just means you are well-rounded. Hey, scrawny and well-rounded. Not many people can say that!

I forgot one of my favorite of all-time:

Training Day

Kudos for listing Memento!! That is a much slept on classic. I have to disagree with V for Vendetta. I thought it was lacking a pulse. I just couldn't feel it at all. My buddy at work would strongly agree with you, he loves V.

Your first two sentences were on point. Great movie. I was about to say the same thing.

Sentences 3-5 sounded like a garbage disposal.

wow, you like V for Vendetta too? yuck!!! I thought it was absolutely a waste of time. I hated it and I know all about the message and everything, but the film had no soul. I was hugely disappointed with it and agree with most critics on this one.

Friday, yes!

Training Day, yes!

I also love Spanglish. Kung Fu Hustle.

Shooter was great.

Oh and umm...ROCKY!

Spanglish is very good. Good chemistry in that movie.

I thought Shooter was just ok.

A movie I was very disappointed in that had so much potential was Reign Over Me. I had such high hopes for it but it just didn't work. There is one seen that is gut-wrenching in the movie though.

I really like Punch Drunk Love.

I love Friday! (don't tell my dad... I was not allowed to watch that one)

And I still love Dazed and Confused. "Alright, alright, alriiiiiight..."

Everyone loves to know the spaghetti westerns, but I love them. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is simply a classic. I'm actually getting ready to do a drawing for a guy that is based on this movie.

Another movie I really like is Million Dollar Baby.

Million Dollar Baby is a good, solid movie....but.....I thought The Aviator was robbed that year. A truly special film.

Finding Neverland
Hoosiers
Garden State
Elf
Swingers
Friday Night Lights
21 Grams
Amore Perros
Babel
Blood Diamond
Little Children(deeply disturbing)
Love Liza(I Love Phillip Seymour Hoffman, also deeply disturbing)
Capote
Borat
Half Nelson(incredible acting by Ryan Gosling)

I never could get into The Aviator. Not saying it was bad, it just didn't capture me. And I also would not put it in the same caliber of movie as MDB... But that's just me.

I'm glad someone else mentioned Garden State. It was just such a weird and different movie... And Natalie Portman played a very good retard. (much love for NP... She's my #2) I'd have to throw Elizabethtown right up there with it too.

Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, and The Red Dragon were all very well done, IMO. I read the books before, and still really liked the movies. Hannibal Rising... A bit strange though.

We watched Transsiberian tonight, Joe. It was very good, thanks for the recommendation!

I didn't expect a lot of that stuff to go down! It was refreshing to NOT be able to guess the whole movie before it happened!

I've been itching to see 3:10 to Yuma again. I forgot to add that to my list earlier. That movie is mos def one of my faves, hands down.

Kriston, I'm with you on 3:10 to Yuma. I bought that again this past weekend because I regretted selling it. Ben Foster is the unsung star of that movie.

What did you think of There Will be Blood? I think Daniel Day-Lewis is a brilliant actor. Bill the Butcher, one of the best roles of all-time, IMO.

Blood was amazing. DDL was amazing. Period. It was a great movie.

Between that and No Country (since they were most discussed), I actually thought No Country for Old Men was a better movie all around. But they were both GREAT.

Javier Bardem did an amazing job with his role. Speaking of him, has anyone seen Vicky Christina Barcelona? I want to own that. Might be something women might understand more. I definitely related. 8-[

I would have taken Assassination of Jesse James over both of them but I'm one of the few that would take There Will be Blood over No Country. I still loved No Country, Javier Bardem was absolutely amazing in that film.

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. Though it had too much Hollywood for my likings in the genre, they were well done, and did not take away from the story. One of the better remakes I've seen.
