Since my groin strain a few weeks ago and dealing with that, the discomfort slowly moved from the groin area to the right hamstring area. My hamstring has been a little tight recently but now the pain is behind my right knee. From what I read, its a direct result of overuse. Acceleration and deceleration are the main factors for it which is exactly what you do when running long distances.

I'm not sure, but I know it is sore today and hard for me to straighten my leg. I ran hard this morning but felt pretty good. I felt my hamstring was a little tight early in the run but it warmed up. If any of you have experienced some pain behind your knee, what did you do to heal it?

Do you think it's "runners knee" or something else?

You'll probably say "no duh" but ice it. No matter what it is, (with the exception of certain issues) ice will help manage it.
