As I've mentioned before, this race holds some sentimental value since I ran it twice as a kid. This was my 2nd year running since I've decided to do this whole running thing again. It was a little cold and I ran in pants, I can't remember exact temps but it wasn't cold enough that I would normally wear pants but I did, so that's that!
While waiting for the start, I overheard someone say there were 1,100 runners/walkers there. Wow! for a race like this, that's quite a few. So, as I'm waiting for the start, Tom walks up and surprises me. He drove down from Indy and while here, he ran the race and what an awesome surprise!! It was great to see him and considering my attitude wasn't where it needed to be...it was the lift I needed to get thru it.
The race overall is very good. They have been doing it almost 30 years so they have this one down. The course itself is very tough during the 1st 2 miles. After that its not so bad. The 1st 2 miles include the climb to the lookout

...whew! that's no fun but I made it without much of an issue. The rest of the course includes the loop around the top and then back down.
Overall, it was a great experience just like last year, other than the factr Kriston wasn't there and she was missed. Lenore, if you ever do a race and don't tell us about it, you are fired

...I finished the race about a minute faster than last year but felt I ran rather sloppy. oh well....its on to the Reindeer Romp 4K, my shortest race of the year.
