The heat has really been getting me down. I haven't been running nearly as often as I need or would like to. I just need to come up with a plan and stick to it. Either start getting up early and running before work, or getting to the gym after work. Today I am going to try the gym, I'm betting it is going to be crowded, and warm, but I have to do something. I really like my sleep and hate having to go to bed early so I can get up early, but I guess I'll do what I have to. How are you all beating the heat or is it getting you down as well. Well, it's been more than a while since my last post and a lot has changed in my life. The quick version is I have gotten divorced, moved to Indianapolis, fallen in love with a nice young lady, and am expecting my or should I say our first child in October. That's quite a bit there isn't it. I have also completed my first full marathon.
I won't bore you with all the non-running related stuff, but on the running front, things are going pretty well. I have come to the realization that Boston may never be in my future. Not saying I can't, just that I'm not sure I want to dedicate the level of effort it would require at this point in my life. I plan to continue running halfs and shorter, and maybe one day, but for now I am happy just to run. Training for something like Boston or any other marathon for that matter, makes it almost like a second job, and for now I just want to run for the enjoyment of running. I'm sure there are some non-runners baffled by that statement, but yes, I do enjoy running.
Any way, that's it for now. I will try to get better about updating you all as I know you are all on the edge of your seats waiting to see what happens next. :)
